What causes acne?
Most people are affected by acne at some point in their lives, usually between the ages of 15-24. One of the causes of acne is an increase in the production of sebum, the oil produced by the skin to keep it healthy. Hormonal changes in the body, often during teenage years, can increase how much sebum is produced, and when excess oil is combined with dead skin cells, pores can become blocked and infected with bacteria. This blockage then becomes acne (‘whiteheads’ or ‘blackheads’).
The Epiology acne skincare range controls harmful acne bacteria while calming and soothing the skin, effectively reducing the redness and irritation that can be associated with acne – perfect for sensitive skin.
To start using the Epiology acne skincare range, apply 1-2 pumps of Epiology's Anti-Acne Foaming Cleanser to hands and work into a lather. Apply to wet face and massage, concentrating on problem areas. Rinse thoroughly with warm water or a wet facecloth and pat dry.
After cleansing with the Anti-Acne Foaming Cleanser, apply a thumbnail-size amount of our Advanced Anti-Acne Cream between fingertips and massage into your face.
For problem areas and spots, dab a pea-sized amount of the Extra Strength Spot Gel on to affected areas after cleansing and moisturising.
